Ranchi / Jamshedpur: More than 6,000 doses given in the state on the first day of the national dose drive on Monday.
While the state government does not issue official numbers in the total number of senior citizens with co-morbidity and health workers and frontline workers who take the prevention dose when this report is submitted, according to the real time data available on the co-win portal, 5,929 Dosage is given at 2,808 vaccine sites until 8pm.
In Ranchi, 855 doses were given at 95 session sites, which included nine private hospitals.
However, Dr.
S B Khalko, Nodal officer in Ranch, said that the final figures could increase further because reports from all blocks had not yet arrived.
“Everything I can say at this time is no problem reported from anywhere and the inoculation drive runs in a subtle way,” he added.
In Jamshedpur (Singbhum Timur), 1,031 doses are given in 149 session sites, including six personal.
On the first day, the qualified beneficiaries are mostly health workers and front lines that appear to take the dosage of caution.
Administration has made preparations to manage 13,715 doses in urban areas and suburban blocks Jamshedpur, 10,365 doses in all eight district blocks on the first day, said an official.
A total of 293 health workers, 267 staff and 244 senior residents took a vaccine.
“The total number of doses given on the first day will take several hours to reach the district health department,” said the additional head of the Sahir Pall medical officer.
He added, “What is encouraging about the urge is that people realize it and we receive many questions about the registration process to get vaccination.” The prudential dose is being given to parents with co-morbid conditions, frontline and health workers only if the recipient has nine months from taking the date when he takes the second dose.
In terms of elderly with comorbid conditions, they are allowed to take third doses after consulting with their doctors but are not required to provide a doctor’s certificate.
