Pune: A total of 74 509 people no longer receive covid shot them in the district on Friday.
Pune district administration has given dose 1.40.43.925 since covid mass inoculation drive starts on January 16.
Of the 83.42 lakh eligible (over 18) population in the district, as many as 84.16 lakh people, including the floating population, has been given the first dose so far.
Of them, 56.27 (almost 67%) Lakh people have received a dose of it, officials said.
“We have to vaccinate all adults who qualify in the top 18 with the first dose.
It also includes a population floating.
Now, we increase the vaccination of adults for a second dose,” said Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director, Health Services, Pune Region.
Pune district is only the second in the state to achieve 100% vaccination of the first dose.
Achievement was reached on December 8, nearly 11 months after the launch of Drive Inoculation Covid.
Vaccination daily average in the district has dropped to 20,000 during the pre-Diwali.
It began to rise from the second half of November with the launch of the campaign “Har Ghar Dastak”, where the number rose to 60,000 daily inoculation.
Anxiety over Omicron seems to further encourage these figures.
According to the data, about eight lakh residents have been given the vaccine shots Covid in the district in the last 10 days.
