Secunderabad: Manhole which was revealed to welcome visitors at Old Vasavi Nagar at the Secunderabad Cantonment.
Likewise, the open manhole hole in Colony Railway has caused discomfort for the population because of the foul smell from it.
This is not a case that is isolated as a gas hole revealed or those who have a broken cover can be found even on the main road in the Cantonment.
Health wings & sanitation Cantonment board Secunderabad handles the sewerage system, the line runs more than 500 kilometers, with three jet engines.
SCB officials acknowledge that they accept, 15 to 20 complaints, on average, every day about the layer of sewer water overflowing or choking the gutter tissue.
According to the official SCB record, there are 50,000 man holes spread over 500 kilometers of sewerage networks in Cantonment.
SCB officials said they would not allow manual cleaning of sewer channels in Cantonment.
“Like GHMC and HMWS & SB, the Cantonment Board does not have a sewerage system such as the main trunk and lakh holes Senior SCB (SWM) to Toi.
Regarding the shotgers revealed, except for a few, more than 80% of them have a blanket.
“Every time we receive a complaint of a shotger revealed, sanitation workers fix the cover.
As a result, until now, there is no single manhole death reported,” SCB official said.
Satish Satish Gupta Social Workers said that even though the housing welfare association (Rwas) had given a representation of the revealed shotgers, it fell on deaf ears.
“As a result, Got has become a death trap in Canton,” he said.
Officials must examine every manhole for people’s safety, he said.
