Varanasi: Strict traffic restrictions have been charged on the route that leads to Kashi Vishwanath Dham from Sunday given the major steps of pilgrims from all over the country which caused traffic chaos on the road.
The new traffic plan will remain effective until the next order of the district administration and police.
Even vehicles of district administration officers, police, paramilitary and VIP forces were not permitted to advance towards KV Dham from the crossing of Maidagin on Sunday while the two-wheel movement remained limited between the intersection of Maidagin and Godowlia.

(Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Puri said, “The new traffic plan has been implemented about the route that leads to KV Dham from Sunday morning to avoid unexpected crowding around the temple like on Saturdays.
When pilgrims continue to increase and the route that leads To KVD remained crowded, we decided to introduce a new traffic plan on several routes.
The new plan will remain effective until the next order.
“Except the ambulance and fire tender, the movement of all vehicles, even two wheels, has been completely limited between the crossings of the Maidagin and Godowlia, said Puri.
No four-wheeled vehicles and tricycle will be allowed to move to Godowlia from Sonarpura, he said, adding that the four wheels will also not be allowed to go to Ramapura to cross from Luxa.
The four and tricycle movements will also not be permitted between Revaritab and Ramapura, he added.
Only private wheels will be allowed to go to Beniabagh from Lahurabir crossing while no other four-wheel movements and tricycle, including e -Crickshaw and rickshaw paddles, will be allowed on this route, he said, adding that four-wheeled and tricycle will be allowed to move towards Maidagin from Lahurabir.
But, the three-wheel movement will be restricted to Lahurabir from Maidagin.vehicles come to Maidagin through Visheshwarganj, Kaal Bhairo and Kotwali will not be allowed to go to Kabirchaura.
No automatic rickshaw and e-rickshaws will be allowed to move in the Samnegat, Ramnagar and Rajghat bridges on the Ganga River, he added that autos and e-rickshaws moving on Jalan Kutchehri from the route Houses Ashiyana and Mint will return through the same thing route after Rotating from Ambedkar Crossing.
