Morphed Video: Delhi Police Register Cemara

New Delhi: Delhi Police have registered a case after finding a morphed video from the Cabinet Committee where some tried to show that the meeting was against the Sikh community, officials said on Friday.
During monitoring social media, it was observed that fake / morphed videos had been distributed on Twitter by several Twitter handles, they said.
In fact, the video was from the Cabinet Committee meeting, which took place on December 9, 2021, after the death of the Head of the General Bipin Defense Staff.
The video was available on various news portals and social media platforms, a senior police officer said.
“With a bad intention to promote hostility and incite communal disharmony, the video was morphed and super new voice forced where the alleged person tried to show that the meeting was against the Sikh community,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO) KPS Malhotra said.
“Tweet refers to viral videos claim that at the #Cabinet Committee meeting on security, there is a call for the removal of the Sikh of the Indian Army.
The claim is #fake.
There are no such discussions / meetings,” PIB.
Check tweeted facts.
Such actions promote disharmony / hostility between different groups with religious reasons experiencing prejudice against harmony and can interfere with public peace and are violations under the 153a part of the Indian criminal code, DCP said.
In this case, a case has been registered and the investigation has been taken.
Twitter account that started this video propagation was found @ simrankaur0507 and @ estalkkaur1, he said.
Through a press record, Delhi police also advised the general public to not believe in the video and conduct the right facts before sharing the same thing on social media.
