Ahmedabad: In the midst of a worrying increase in cases of diseases transmitted through vectors in the city, the AMC health department examined the construction site in various regions in seven city zones on Wednesday.
The Malaria control team examined 299 sites and found a mosquito breeding site in 171 of them, which was slapped with notice.
Four sites are sealed.
“We have collected a fine of Rs 7.9 lakh of 63 sites.
Of the total sites examined, most are in the western zone in areas such as Paldi, Vadaaj, Naranpura, and Navrangpura,” said a health department official.
“A total of 107 sites were examined in this zone and we found breeding sites at 72.” Maximum fine, amounting to Rs 2.7 lakh, collected from construction sites in areas falling below the Amc northwest zone such as Ghatlodia, Thaltej, Gota, Bodakdev, and Bopal.
This was followed by Rs 1.1 lakh from sites in the East Zone area including nicol, ramol, and vastral.
Punishment until the song RS 1 Lakh recovered from areas of the South Zone such as Maninagar, Behrampura, and Danilimda.
“The four sealed sites are the construction of Sahaj in New Vadaj, Sahitya Enza in Naroda, and RV Mall and Ganesh Flora in Vatva,” the official said.
Two Metro Rail construction sites in New Vadaj were also fined RS 10,000 respectively, officially more.
