Mumbai: Minister of Higher Education Maharashtra Uday Samant on Monday said the teaching of classes in college may not start from November 1, when the academic year is scheduled to start.
Speaking to PTI, Samant said the decision about online or physical classes will be taken according to the situation that applies at that time, with the district collector, which is also the head of each disaster management committee, is being consulted.
“I have said the academic year will start from November 1.
I have not said the physical class will start that day.
At present, taking the risk (starting offline classes) is a big challenge,” Minister said.
“We must consider the fact that not all qualified recipients have been given the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while only 17-18 percent have received a second dose.
If all students have received both doses, we can think of starting physical classes,” Samant said .
He also said the state government would file a shot against the company if they discriminate between students who had passed during the pandemic Covid-19 and others while giving work.
“This is not their mistake (students) that they have no practice (because of a pandemic).
If there is an industry rejecting the employment to the students, the firs will be submitted,” he said.
Speaking at the upcoming Chipi airport in Sindhudurg, Samant said the facility will be inaugurated by the main minister of Uddhav Thackeray on November 9, adding that the credit must be given to the former Union Minister of Suresh Prabhu.
He also said Induction of Narayan Rane, who holds the road swinging in the region of Konkan, in the government of Narendra Modi may have increased the morale of BJP workers but has not demoralized Shiv sainik in the area.
