Pune: Cybercrooks cloned a 64-year-old credit card from Sinhagad Road and sucked the Lakh RS 21.11 from his account and a fixed deposit with a private bank.
Transactions occurred between 1:30 am and 1.50 am on November 16.
After being confirmed by the bank, Sexagenarian on Thursday filed a complaint to the police Dattawadi.
The complainant told Ti he knew about fraud in the morning.
“I received four messages from the bank about the debit of money from my bank account,” he said.
The complainant said that by using his credit card details, the fraudsters first transferred Rs 12 lakh to the company.
“My credit card was linked to my bank account.
After they reached the credit card limit, the criminal transferred Rs 8 Lakh from my bank account to my credit card,” he said.
He said they also transferred the amount of his remained deposit at the bank to his savings account, and then with a credit card.
“In total, I lost Rs 21.11 lakh for fraudsters,” he said.
The complainant said he did not accept OTP for the transaction.
He never shared details to unknown people.
“Transactions occur when I fall asleep,” he said.
Inspector Vijay Khomane from Police Dattawadi told TII, “Prima Facie is a card cloning case.
The complainant claimed he did not share any detail with unknown people.
He also told the bank.”
