Mumbai: The government on Thursday launched an online e-pass facility that was connected with Cowin to enable them to be fully vaccinated to travel by suburban trains.
BMC said the ‘Universal Travel Pass’ system allows tourists to get e-passes without physical verification.
On the other hand, the off-line system launched on Wednesday has more passengers marching with identity cards and vaccine certificates to buy monthly season tickets.
WeBLINK- https://epassmsdma.mahait.org was originally developed by wing relief and state rehabilitation to provide e-passes to those who are in important services.
The latest procedure for integrating the portal with Cowin is completed in less than three days with the approval of the unification of the health and family welfare and the help of the Maha-IT, the community of Maharashtra’s knowledge innovation and several start-ups.
Now, it will be available for community members as long as they are fully vaccinated.
“This weblink will be available in all browsers.
E-passes must be stored on the cellphone and, to show it in the ticket window, commuting passes through a monthly trip.
So offline verification will not be needed,” said an official.
Citizens who have completed 14 days after being given the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be eligible for this e-pass facility.
“Those who register will be verified for their immunization status through this link.
There is no human interaction needed.
Anyone who applies 14 days after taking the second dose will receive the e-pass only after 14 days,” the official said.
An official said the state was also considering using a universal pass for air travel and entering the mall.
“The system only requires photos, all other details are linked to Cowin.
After the photo is uploaded, verification takes a few minutes and the pass will be produced within 24 hours,” said an official.
Meanwhile, universal off-line travel pass system continues to receive a stable response.
The BMC table verifies 21,718 Covid certificates on Thursday, approximately 3,000 more than on Wednesday.
This process requires potential travelers to present vaccination certificates and photo identity cards to the facilitation table along with photocopies of card I.
After validated, travelers can buy a monthly season pass from the train ticket window.
CR spokesman said, “Up to 6pm, a total of 17,775 season tickets were sold with mostly in Dombivli (1,314), followed by Thane (1,042).
WR spokesman said,” We sold 5,949 tickets between 7am and 6pm.
“A senior CR official said,” We expect to increase the issuance of MST (monthly season tickets) because the online system has been living.
