Most of the Great West Receives Excessive Rainfall

Kolhapur: Most of the West Maharashtra region – consisting of Kolhapur Regency, Sangli, Solapur and Satara – have received rainfall above this year.
Thanks to a good rainy season, reduced areas in Sangli Regency and Solapur have received enough water to last for the next eight months.
This year, between June and September, Kolhapur Regency received 1481.4 mm rainfall with seven of 12 tehsils getting excesses.
The Kagal area in Kolhapur has received 84.6% of excessive rainfall while Radhanagari, is known as a severe rainfall area, has received 35.4% less rainfall.
Sangli’s district received 689mm rainfall this year with 8 out of 10 teasts watching excess rainfall.
The Shirala region in Satara received 83.8% of excessive rainfall, while the JATH and Kavtrerkal regions were reduced in Sangli received 51.8% and 29% over excess.
The Satara District received 892.6mm rainfall this year where only four of the 11 teasts received excessive rainfall.
The WAI area received 33.7 percent of excessive rainfall, while the Phaltan region received 22% less rain.
The Soapur district has received 534.2mm rainfall this year with nine of 11 teasts to report excessive rainfall.
The Mohol region in Solapur received 29.8% excess rain followed by Barshi (28.6%).
Shantanu Patil’s climate expert said, “The average rainfall parameter seems to have changed in a drought-prone area because some cyclone storms were developed on the bay of Bengal, moved to inland and then floated towards Maharashtra Tengah.
The cyclone effect brings heavy rainfall because of the region What we have least expected to get heavy rain gets normal rainfall this year.
