Margao: Most parts of South Goa will have limited water supplies on November 19 and 20 because the Public Works Department will carry out maintenance work at the Salaulim Water Supply Factory 160ml.
Executive Engineer Office, Div XII (PHE-SWSP), said there would be limited water supply to Sanguem, Quepem, Salcete and Marmugao Talukas.
The PWD source said that the supply would be restored to most of the southern cave on November 19, while several parts of Mormugao and several other locations at a higher altitude might have to go without water until November 20.
Gaonkar student engineer that maintenance work is related to the improvement of the water reservoir gate, which can take up to six hours.
“During the shutdown period of this old 160 MLD plant, the new 100 MLD plant will operate as usual,” said Gaonkar.
“This means that two-thirds of water supply operations will be closed,” he said.
The PWD source said that arrangements have been put in place to supply water through tankers in certain areas in Mormagao, among others.
