Most students in rural areas do not have access to online education: surveys

Ranchi: The survey of basic education carried out by non-governmental organizations, Gyan Vigyan Samiti (GVS), in the rural part of Jharkhand has revealed that most students have not been able to access online classes during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The survey found that there had been a general decline at the level of student learning as well.
Clothing will soon submit its report to the state government along with its recommendations.
Removing the report, Secretary General of the National GVS, Dr.
Kasi Nath Chatterjee, struggled to reopen the school with the necessary prevention measures.
Chatterjee said, “GVS members conducted a survey among students and parents in 17 districts.
The survey revealed that 93.6% of students included in the weak part of society did not have their own cellphone.
Only 5.3% of those who really learned Online while others have to depend on different modes such as videos.
“According to the report, among students who attended online classes, only 12.8% said that they could understand the subject correctly.
Most students regardless of their studies and they also forgot that the knowledge they had earlier.
The report said that the level of learning has fallen far among the students, adding that if they are promoted for the second time in a row without examination, some students will likely get out of class.
The GVS survey further stated that 93.1% of people said that educational standards had declined in the interim state 92% said that schools must be reopened with the right preventive measures.
It is said that the renovation of school buildings, teacher vaccination and supply of masks and cleaners is very important to restart the school.
It adds a home-to-house survey to ensure that children go to school after reopening.
This survey was conducted in 877 villages under 620 Panchayats in 17 districts among farmers, daily workers, small traders, contract workers and permanent employees.
The district surveyed is GIREM, Palamu, Dhanbad, Codermy, Khunti, Bokaro, Garhwa, Garhwa, Godda, Dumka, Jamtara, East Singhbhum, Sahibganj, Ranchi, and Nail.
