Bengaluru: Drive carried out by BBMP to clear the storm waterways (rajakaluves) encroachment following the report on frequent floods, especially during the rainy season, seems to have lost steam in recent years.
According to the Comptroller Report and General Auditor (CAG) submitted in the Assembly on Wednesday, the Palace has not removed 714 encroachment on SWD throughout the city even though they were identified eight years ago.
This was revealed in the stormwater management performance audit in the Bengaluru urban area.
Following the direction of the High Court in 2011, BBMP identified 2,626 encroachment on SWD, where 1,912 was removed so far.
