Noida: The body of a 28-year-old married woman was found in her house in Buddh District Nagar Uttar Pradesh on Monday in a suspected case of suicide, police said.
The woman’s body was found depending on the snare inside the house in the Jewar area, they said.
“The woman was married for eight years.
The couple has two children,” said a police spokesman.
The reason behind taking extreme steps has not been ascertained, the police said, adding further legal processes was being carried out.
India witnessed 1.53 lakh suicide deaths in 2020, with “family problems” contributing 33.6 percent and “marriage related problems” add 5 percent of the total deaths, according to government data.
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) said suicide can be prevented with timely intervention, evidence-based and often low-cost.
