Mumbai: commuters, who are fully vaccinated, can now order local train tickets on their cellphones – either, Android and iOS systems – as a mobile application railways’ UTS has been linked to the state government universal portal.
This facility will be available on Android Google Play Store and Apple App Store from Tuesday.
Passengers who already have an UTS application on their cellphones have to update them to activate this new facility.
Commuter can order travel tickets and seasons; The season ticket update is also possible, official said.
“The Linking of UTS Mobile App and Universal Pass will help passengers get train tickets without hassle,” said General Central Railway (CR) manager Anil Kumar Lahoti.
In the offline system, passengers must produce their universal pass at the booking counter to buy tickets.
Universal Pass, a system developed by the state government, is issued for only people who have been vaccinated who have completed 14 days since the second dose.
Chief Relations Public Relations of CR Shivaji Sutar, “During Pandemic, Mobile UTS applications are suspended because there is no system verification of passenger vaccination status.
Now, it has been activated with the right vaccination verification that is possible by connecting universal pass with the application.” This new application is an independent example From the train server that collaborates with an external server for ticket validation.
Linking Universal Pass Portal and UTS Mobile has become a joint effort from the government of Maharashtra, Cris and Central Railway.
