Pramac Ducati’s Johann Zarco stopped fellow Frenchman Fabio Quartararo’s dominant streak of five successive sticks to move quickest in qualifying in the Grand Prix on Saturday.
Yamaha’s Quartararo place the first benchmark from the session until Zarco dug deep into post his quickest lap in 1 second, 20.236 minutes.
Zarco’s first rod as a season’s Czech GP came under threat from the final stages when he popped out on Switch 4.
However, Quartararo pulled from the final rush to cover second place on the grid.
“I am fairly content.
I was eventually able to make use of the tyres in their finest at the final phases,” Zarco stated.
