Ghaziabad: Authorities on Thursday broke a bicycle lifters’ gang and detained seven detained.
The gang had been still active in NCR along with 14 bicycles and a single scooty were retrieved from them.
The detained gang members are recognized as Sameer, Imran, Rahul, Rakesh, Idris, Aas Mohamed along with Imran.
“The group was busy in NCR, such as Ghaziabad and targeted bicycles in crowded markets and railroad stations.
We had been also tipped off that the group had been planning to steal bicycles, so we raided Bajaria region and detained seven accused by the place,” police said.
On questioningthey demonstrated the function of each member was split.
“While a team picked the place and sufferer, another team followed the sufferer and diverted them kept watch on other people while the rest members utilized to crack the lock and slide the bicycle,” police said.
“Then they garnished with the number plate changed the appearance of the bicycle by painting it to prevent getting captured.
They’d sell the bicycles or the components,” police included.
The group had a criminal background and assorted instances of theft were lodged against those together with many police stations.
