Move vc to provide autonomy to the depress under fire from academics

Nagpur: Subhash Chaudhari Chancellor Deputy Moving to provide autonomy to 43 departments has been burned from several academics, including Members of the Management Board (MC).
It has been a depth of no department head asking for autonomy, but VC seems to make its own decisions.
More than a month after VC verbally told the department’s head about his decision, no official notifications were released until now, they claimed.
According to them, the move will spell Doom, because all departments operate with teaching staff and non-teaching less than 50%.
If this is not enough, most of them lack infrastructure such as laboratories, libraries and equipment, and even classrooms to accommodate all students, according to UGC norms.
Chaudhari did not take TOI call or respond to the text message.
“VC seems to have made a hasty decision, without repending a proposal for legal entities such as the Academic Council and Management and Senate.
Such important decisions cannot be taken without the right discussion and deliberation.
He may be possible, supported by the value of ‘a’ given by national assessment and accreditation board (NAAC).
When we asked him whether the academic council had agreed, he said, he had made a decision under the special power given to VC according to Part 12 (7) Maharashtra Public University Law, 2016, “MC member Rajesh Bheshar told Toi.
Senior Academic, has extensive experience in working with almost all NU’s legal entities, demanding that the same strict conditions must be set for the NU Department to offer autonomy, such as for affiliated universities.
“You harass college affiliated by placing all checks and balances before by autonomous status to them.
Autonomy cannot be granted overnight as desired and fantasy.
Full, complete laboratories and other facilities such as libraries, PhD and other guidance.
“Head of Political Sciences Department Nu Mohan Kashikar also raised doubts on the implementation of autonomy.
“We have seven empty goni posts from nine.
We don’t have staff who don’t teach.
We don’t have basic infrastructure such as libraries and even classrooms are very inadequate to accommodate a large number of students.
In rare energy and conditions, how we will manage The paper, conducting an examination and states the results on our own.
“He added about 60% of empty teaching posts in all NU departments and in such conditions, how the study board (boss), which is needed to frame the syllabus will be formed.
“Although the decision is good, the implementation will be a serious problem in the absence of the number of teaching and non-teaching staff needed.
None of the departments that send proposals to obtain autonomous status.
The status cannot be given overnight without a wider consultation.
Need to make amendments in the 2016 Law, if the university department must be autonomous, “he told toi.
