Hyderabad: Offering technical courses in Telugu will do more damage than kindness, education and professors because there are not many jobs or opportunities for higher studies available to those who choose to conduct courses in Telugu or other regional languages.
They say that at certain times when there is no demand for technical courses in this country, starting one in regional languages does not make sense.
“This initiative will fail,” said KVK RAO, Secretary General, the entire Federation of self-financing technical institutions, added that at the time not many technical students could secure work, starting one in Telugu would not make sense.
He said that for technology courses that appear – artificial intelligence, data science, among other things, translations into regional languages will be difficult.
“Next, there will be no reference book in Telugu,” he added, and said that unless the central government plans to start MTech in Telugu, these students will not have the opportunity for higher studies.
While one college in the AP received permission to start a technical course in Telugu, no college from Telangana was applied to start the course in regional languages.
Management of Engineering College said that it was unlikely that any college would apply for permits in the next or upcoming academic years.
However, some, said that this would be beneficial for those who wanted to be employed in Telugu countries or their homes.
“It might be useless if someone wants to secure work in MNC or the global market.
However, if a candidate what to live in his home country, it’s useful for them,” said NV Ramana Rao, Director, Nit Warangal.
Ramana Rao said that it was better to have orders for subjects in Telugu rather than not knowing anything because the course was taught in English.
