Coimbatore: A man who faces the installation of debt dies by suicide in the Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu on Thursday night after killing his mother, wife and child by giving them toxic food.
The deceased has been identified as a J Mohan, 40, from the Swarnabhoomi layout in Mathigiri near Hosur, his wife M Rumya, 33, his daughter M Hanmaya, and his mother J Vasanthakumari.
Mohan, who was involved in online trade, faced a big loss.
He borrowed several lakh rupees from banks, non-banking institutions and several people.
But he can’t pay money and struggle to make a living.
On Thursday night, Mohan gave his toxic food to his wife, daughter, and mother.
Then, he committed suicide by closing his head with a polythene cover.
On Friday morning, neighbors, who grew suspicious because there were no family members who came out of the house, knocking on the door.
No response.
They told Mathigiri police who rushed to the place.
They police found Vasanthakumari died in the room on the ground floor.
Mohan’s wife and daughter were found dead in the bedroom on the first floor.
Mohan was also found dead on the first floor.
Mohan left a suicide record stating that he faced debt.
The body was sent to a government hospital in Hosur for postmortem.
The police registered a case.
