MSEDCL However to Regain Rs 686-cr arrears in MMR

MUMBAI: Aside from suffering enormous losses throughout Cyclone Tauktae lately, the MSEDCL is to regain Rs 686 crore power bill arrears from customers over Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
On Friday, MSEDCL leader Suresh Ganeshkar appealed to customers in MMR to aid the state electricity firm by draining all pending payments.
He said:”The cash must buy electricity from producing units while additionally for daily operational and maintenance expenditures.
Of the overall arrears, Rs 200 crore is impending for payment of power bills from home customers in MMR for the previous one year while industrial customers also have arrears to the tune of Rs 120 crore.

After the drive was started, around 47,000 users from the Mumbai area paid up after getting admissions and MSEDCL managed to recoup Rs 62 crore.
