Mumbai: The elderly pair traveling by the MSRTC bus from Boisar to Wada was driven, dragged and attacked by a female conductor and driver, after being told to slow down on Jalan Manor-Wada which was hollow on Friday.
Conductor Sheetal Pawar and Gorakhnath Nagargoja driver has been suspended after the video incident became a viral.
Police Wada registered two cases – one by the pair and the other by Pawar, who accused being slapped by the 60-year-old woman, said Inspector Sudhir Sankhe.
Women and her 67-year-old husband returned to Hamrapur Village in Wada when the incident happened.
Viral videos showed MSRTC staff dragged the couple and threw verbal violations to them, they said in their police complaints.
Even when the crowd gathered and came to the rescue of a partner, the driver and conductor continued to attack them.
The couple then registered the case below the 324 IPC section (causing injury) to both.
“The Corporation has taken immediately every awareness and suspends the driver and conductor,” Shekhar Channe, Deputy Chair and MD, MSRTC, said.
