Vadodara: MS University has never witnessed the type of buildup that it was seen before the Senate election this year.
The most important of the election for the formation of a new Senate body, which is from the registered graduate category, is scheduled for Sunday.
Of the 14 seats from the registered graduate categories, each representing individual university faculties, the election will be held for nine seats when five candidates have won unpound polls.
For this nine seats, 27 candidates in the commotion.
The university campus has turned into a virtual political battle battle ahead of the Sunday election.
Not only the university campus, the battle line has been withdrawn even outside the campus with the BJP city unit jumping into the opposite election still having an affair.
Polls have turned into attraction of the BJP City Unit President Vijay Shah, who have lined up the candidates supported by the party, and Jigar Inamdar leads “MSU Team”, referring to the Saffron camp who currently enjoy the majority of the body of the Senate and Syndicate of Universities.
Members of the ‘San Samitan’ – rival Saffron Faction inamdar – have BJP support.
Also, Shah took personal interest in two candidates who fought from the Faculty of Trade and Technology Faculty and Engineering, said source.
The presence of candidates and independent supported by Congress has added color to political drama.
Keen as it was the battle of polls that the corporations and BJP workers have entrusted the task of bringing voters to the university campus.
On Saturday, the two camps and candidates, busy reaching voters, regulating logistics for them, to ensure that every voter appears for the selection scheduled from 12 noon to 5 pm.
