Vadodara: If everything goes according to plan, the law faculty of the University of MS will soon accommodate the center that will help people resolve conflicts and disputes related to trading or related to their families.
The Situjirao center proposed from the resolution of alternative disputes (SCADR) will not only help people in settlements outside the court but also provide free legal assistance for deployment.
This center will be a practical basis for future lawyers to study alternative dispute settlement mechanisms (ADR) before they join the court.
Litigation is often time consuming and expensive.
In the Covid-19 era, the court was still closed for almost more than a year.
“Even when they have been reopened, they only deal with urgent things.
We have proposed Scadr as a center that can help resolve disputes between parties so instead of going to court, they can complete commercial, trade, family or disputes Other civilians without going to court.
It will also reduce the increase in the burden in court, “said Professor Uma Iyer, officers about special tasks and Director of Law School Baroda at the Faculty of Law.
With the importance of ADR techniques including conciliation, mediation and negotiations that grow globally, especially in trade, are seen as more feasible options to sort out disputes.
“The Indian Bar Board has also made ADR mandatory courses for law students.
For students it is also a new road in their careers,” he said.
The faculty wants to involve all stakeholders including students, teachers, lawyers, district legal service authorities, mediation centers and arbitration centers in central activities.
“We hope that we will be able to operate the center in the next three months by tracing all subject experts on one platform,” he said.
Long-term plans include selected legal settings or legal aid clinics as well.
“We hope that the center will strengthen the dispute settlement process and it will lead to the win-win situation for the disputed party,” he said.
The new PhD facilitation center immediately per direction of the Government of Gujarat Government Education Department, the PHD facilitation center will be arranged at the MSU.
Representatives of Chancellor Professor Parimal Vyas said that 14 universities in the state had been given Rs 9 Lakh each to establish such a center on their respective campuses.
“We already have cell research and consultation, cell guarantee of internal quality and student facilitation center.
Through a PhD facilitation center, we will have two dedicated people, who will guide and help students about how to pursue their PhD since the entrance test,” said Vyas , which has prepared a detailed proposal.
Every year, more than 1,000 students appear for PhD entrance tests conducted by universities for various departments.
