Mtr, ATR gets CA accreditation | Ts.

Udhagamandalam: Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) and reserves of Anamalai Tiger (ATR) in the state between 14 tiger reserves in the state accredited by the Workers Government | Tiger standard (CA | TS) on the occasion of the International Tiger Day on Thursday.
International Received Conservation Equipment, CA | TS prescribes the best practices and standards for managing tiger reserves.
While CA involves social, cultural and biological significance, regional design and legal status, management, community tourism and protection, TS related to habitat management and tiger population.
Ca | TS is implemented in 125 sites in seven countries.
In India only, it was applied at 94 sites.
National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) under the environment, the Ministry of Forest and Climate Change has adopted CA | TS in 2020.
With an extended area to 688.59sqkm, MTR is home to 103 tigers, while ATR, which spreads at home 1,479.87sqkm, house 23 tigers.
Print 100% in eight of 17 categories, MTR scored the highest of 92.35% and reached the standard.
KK Kaushal, Director of Field, MTR, said, “MTR is one of the top tiger reserves both in terms of biodiversity and management and proven in our highest score.
It motivates us all not only to maintain our performance but even better.” I am Anwardeen, Director of Field (Incharge), Arts, said the reserve had undergone serious conservation and management processes for years, helping to obtain international standards.
“Field staff have played a leading role and they deserve credit.” Among other tiger reserves that are accredited with CA | TS is the Tiger Reserve Parambikulam in Kerala, Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka and Sundarbans Tiger Reserve in West Bengal.
