Patna: Criminals shot dead four people, including members of the newly elected environment, a new Mukhiya and police sub-inspector assistant, in two separate incidents under the police station Naubatpur and Barr in Patna on Saturday night.
The police source said the polling competition was the main reason for the murder.
Members of the dead ward were identified as Sanjay Verma (48), which were selected from the environment number nine Jamalpur Panchayat under the Naubatpur police station area.
He was shot dead near his house in Lodipur Village around 11pm.
The police said Verma was shot twice on the head and one empty cartridge 7.65mm was restored from the place.
In Bajitpur Village in BARH, Purvi Pandarak Panchayat, the newly elected Mukhiya Gerelal Yadav aka Priyaranjan (45), ASI Rajesh Kumar (47) was posted at the Pandarak police station and one Lalbabu Das (50) was attacked by two motorcycle criminals near the gate.

The police said the three were, who had received a bullet injury, was rushed to the BARH sub-division hospital.
They then shifted to a private hospital at Agamkuan where Mukhiya and ASI died.
Das died around 1pm on Sunday.
Yadav comes from Gopkitta and the watershed of Mamrakhabad villages under the Pandarak and ASI police station coming from Nawada District.
Sho of Barr Police Station Sanjeet Kumar said the three had come to the wedding room to attend a daughter’s wedding of a trader.
“ASI and Mukhiya stands next to the gate of the wedding venue.
Das also stands nearby when two criminals are transmitted by bicycles releasing fire.
They want to kill Mukhiya, but breast milk and watershed,” he said.
Sho adds 13 to 15 rounds fired by criminals.
“People chased the shooters, forced them to escape by leaving their bikes.
The criminals wanted to kill Mukhiya for political competition,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sho from the police station Naubatpur Samrat Deepak Kumar said Verma returned home after attending a wedding when he was shot dead near the criminal house.
