New Delhi: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Head of the Taliban political office, will lead the new Afghan government, sources in Islamic groups said on Friday, when it fought rebel fighters when struggling to ward off economic collapse.
Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, son of the Founder of Taliban Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai will take senior position in the government, the source said.
“All top leaders have arrived in Kabul, where preparations are in the final stage to announce the new government,” Taliban officials told Reuters, provided that anonymity.
According to media reports, the Taliban is expected to announce new governments in Afghanistan, the Cabinet can be presented after morning prayer on Friday and a ceremony is being prepared at the Presidential Palace in the Capital City.
The Taliban, who confiscated Kabul on August 15 after sweeping the majority of the country, had faced resistance at Panjshir Valley, north of the capital, with a severe battle report and victim.
Several thousand regional militia fighters and the remnants of the government’s armed forces have gathered in a rough valley under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, the son of the former Commander of Mujahidin Ahmad Shah Massoud.
Efforts to negotiate the settlement seem to have been damaged, with each other blame the other for failure.
