Chennai: Given the uncertainty about reopening schools and sustainable online learning, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department will reflect on reducing the syllabus for the 2021-22 academic year as well.
“In the previous academic year, the school education department was reduced by 40% of the syllabus.
We are discussing reducing the syllabus this year too.
After the discussion, we will make an announcement,” Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi told reporters here.
“We cannot ask students to prepare a complete syllabus for the council exam in seven months.
Students are studying online and the date of reopening the school is unknown.
The minister’s chairman also asks us how children will learn full syllabus in a short time.” The Minister said after inaugurating basic computer functional training to government school teachers.
The teachers will complete training to conduct online classes and use hi-tech laboratories in schools and schools assisted by the government.
They will also be taught to enter data on the EMIS portal, conduct online assessment and add hi-tech laboratories to take online classes during five days exercise.
