Pune: Multilevel Car Parking Facilities that appear at city airports are expected to be operational this year, Director of the New Airport, Santosh Dhoke, told TII.
Dhoke, who took over the cost after serving as the Director of Srinagar Airport for two years, said on Thursday that the facility would resolve parking problems, expected to be ready before time.
“I will meet construction company officials and contractors to encourage the initial settlement,” he said, calling the facility one of the top priorities.
The construction of the RS 120 Crore project began in January last year and was expected to be ready in January 2022.
Dhoke said the focus would also increase passenger traffic, connecting a new goal with Pune and relieving the crowd in the terminal building during security checks.
“The aim is to bring passenger traffic to the pre-pandemic level and we will discuss with all airlines.

We will see an increase in the number of CISF personnel at the Security Check counter.
The construction of a new terminal building is 60 % Finished.

When asked whether the airport will operate 24 hours after October, he said the Indian Air Force (IAF) must be consulted about this decision.
