Mumbai: Although slow and late starting, the younger population and technology understanding in the age group 18-44 has seen the fastest vaccination coverage.
In Mumbai, 61% in this category have received at least one dose even though their inoculation starts in May and uncertain until the end of June.
In comparison, aged 45-59 years and in a 60-plus bracket, which began to get Jab in March, not yet fully covered with one dose.
About 88% in groups 45-59 and 96.7% of senior citizens have at least one dose so far.
Civil data shows the highest dose share (43%) has gone to the 18-44 bracket, followed by 29% to 45-59 and 19% to senior citizens.
About 7% in 18-44 have received two doses so far.
In a 45-59 bracket, 52% has two doses; In senior citizens, it is 66%.
Vaccination of senior citizens and they are above 45 with comorbidity beginning in March.
The later month, vaccination for all 45-added regardless of comorbidity followed.

An official said the 18-44 group had the highest part in the adult population.
From the estimated 93 adults lakh, almost 59 lakh comes from a 18-44 bracket which explains why they receive the maximum dose.
“People from their age groups must also work as soon as possible,” the official said.
The slow rate of vaccination among older age groups is the cause of worries.
In fact, on the 45-59 bracket, almost 12% of people have not taken a single dose.
