Mumbai: The proportion of those under the age of 20 among total covid positive patients in the city has increased continuously every month this month, according to statistics released by BMC.
In absolute numbers, the total covid has dropped dramatically in the city, with around 300 people testing every positive day.

In June, 11% of nearly 17,000 cases came from the younger ones.
The additional Commissioner of Suresh Kakani said that children had moved more today, making themselves more susceptible to infection because most of them were still not vaccinated.
Dr.
Joshi said it was still the early days of the vaccination program to consider mass protection for each age group.
“There may be indirect benefits in mortality, but need to be studied in detail first,” he said.
