Mumbai: The police arrested a letter based on a letter on Monday after the SUV who was allegedly hit the autorickshaw moving near St Teresa High School in Bandra (West), killing his driver.
The Defendant Hatim Malampattiwala (24), Director with a leading delay support service provider and delivery service provider in Gujarat, allegedly accelerated the jeep of his seven seats registered with Bharuch to return to the letter around 6am when the accident occurred.
The driver of the rickshaw and locals was present at the accident that was removed by the victim of Susheelkumar Yadav (39) from the rickshaw and rushed to the Bhabha hospital where he was declared dead.
Yadav is the only breadwinner in the family of 11 members and has a plan to visit his hometown at Uttar Pradesh in May to look for grooms for his twin daughter.
“Nighttiwala tried to accelerate but was arrested by the police patrolling in the area,” said an officer of the Bandra Police Station.
He will be produced before the Bandra Court on Tuesday.
The police said the defendant was carried out to undergo a medical examination and he did not seem to drive under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
He has been ordered under the IPC 279 (rash driving), 304 (a) (causing death from negligence) and under ACT motorized vehicles part 184 (dangerous driving).
Siapattiwala often visited family members who lived in Mumbai.
On Monday, he returned to the letter when he allegedly lost control of the SUV after taking a sharp right turn.
“The SUV crashed into a pedicab at high speed.
The case has been registered with the Bandra Police based on complaints by Yadav Vimal Prasad’s brother,” said Mumbai Police spokesman DCP Sanjay Latkar.
