Mumbai: A violation has been registered with 17 people for allegedly giving Casteis’s statement and thwarting a student from the government medical college and the hostel here, police said on Saturday.
The problem was revealed on Friday after 24-year-old occupational therapy students at G-Medical College and Kem Hospital approached the police with complaints, officials said.
The complainants have accused that the hostel roommate and other students from medical colleges will verbally misuse, throw the Casteist and threaten it, he said.
The complainants have claimed that on various occasions in the last three years, the defendant has harassed it, and some of these incidents have occurred before the hostel guards, who did not recognize this, the official said.
Last month, the victim and several activists had submitted complaints with Dean’s office, after the Anti-Ragging Committee meeting was held in the dormitory, he said.
The victim then approached the Bhouwada police station in Central Mumbai and filed his complaint against the Defendant’s students, Wardens and others, said the official.
A pine has been registered in the relevant section of the caste schedule and tribal schedule (prolavence of cruelty) acting, the act of anti-ragging Maharashtra and IPC, he added.
