Mum recorded 925mm rainfall in July, 65% in 4 days

Mumbai: The intense duror since last Friday ensured that the city had received more than the average rain of July 827mm.
The Observatory of Santacruz Department of Meteorology India (IMD) recorded 920mm rainfall for the month until 8:30 a.m.
on Monday.
During the day, recording 36.8mm others, taking a monthly total to 956.8mm.
Nearly 65% of the total rainfall in July was recorded after July 15 – once again showed how extreme weather events were increasingly common in Mumbai.
The IMD data shows that during the range of 48 hours between July 15-16 and July 17-18, the city records triple-digit rainfall (see box).
Meanwhile, since June 1 this year, the Observatory of Santacruz IMD has recorded a total of 1,881.4mm, which is also 85% of the average rainfall season.
If the rain continues at this level, Mumbai can record July wasted, considering 1,468.5mm in 2014 has been maximum for this month.
In 2005, when the Tragic Mumbai flood had followed 944mm in just 24 hours, the moon had recorded 1,454.5mm.
On Monday, IMD increased alert to the city of Orange to Red, showing very heavy rainfall for the entire MMR.
Eastern suburbs and side-side areas such as Thane and Navi Mumbai, including Panvel and Raigad, recording “massive rainfall”.
Officials say this intense mantra is likely to continue.
IMD Scientist Shubhangi Bhute said, “We expect heavy rain in the coming days as well and red warnings are mainly issued for the Ghat area.” The IMD has issued an orange warning, indicating heavy rain until very heavy rain in several places, ranging from July 20 to 23.
It is said because of such heavy rain, the expected impact includes local floods in Linaras, the possibility of flash floods in several locations, small damage to Kutcha roads, landslides, mud and stone fall at vulnerable points, and local disruptions of water and electricity.
Meanwhile, rainfall has lowered the maximum and minimum temperature.
The difference between the maximum and minimum temperature has shrunk too.
On Monday, the Observatory Santacruz IMD recorded a maximum temperature of 27.9 degrees Celsius and Colaba 27.8 degrees while the minimum temperature recorded by IMD Colaba and the Santacruz Observatory each was 25.5 degrees and 25 degrees.
