Mumbai: Taking advantage of Covid-19 Lockdown and online teaching methods adopted by educational institutions, school clerks suck RS 14.06 lakh collected from students as cash costs and also checks.
Allegations reported to open an account on behalf of the school and use the same thing to delete checks.
The fraud was found recently when school conducted an audit of the account and found differences in banking accounts when compared to account books.
Investigation, it led to the arrest of Thane Resident Swati Kadam on January 27, based on complaints received from school.
Kasba Marg Police said Kadam sucked money for his personal use after issuing a false receipt to parents.
Kadam was produced before the local court and was suspended in detention until January 31.
