Mumbai: 15-car service on slow lines between Andheri and Virar

To increase passenger carrier capacity, Western Railway will start Monday (June 28) introducing 15-car services on slow lines between Andheri and Virar.
Addition will increase the carrying capacity of this service by 25 percent.
WR told that to provide services, 25 services including 13 DN and 12 services will be converted from 12-cars to 15 cars.
Of these, 18 services are slow line services, while seven are on the fast line.
The project for the extension of 27 platforms at 14 stations in the slow corridor between Andheri and Virar was carried out with an estimated cost around Rs 60 Crore.
The Western Railway said that the four-meter remodeling page (Andheri, Bhayaper, Vasai Road and Vanas), Construction / Extension of 5 FOBs, and the supply of double discharge in Jogeshwari for fluent commuter dissolution was carried out to make 15-car service.
