Mumbai on Friday became the first district to complete a crore vaccination against Covid-19, according to Cowin.
As many as 1,00,60,411 doses of the Crore vaccine have been given on Friday, covering 78% of the adult population with at least one shot.
To increase the full amount of vaccination, the public center will only immunize those who are waiting for a second shot on Saturday.
Mumbai has an estimate of the 93.48 adult population of the lakh, where 44.88,645 has one dose and 27.85,883 gets both.
More than 43 doses of lakh have been given in the private sector, giving superior advantages over other districts.
About 97% of senior citizens have been covered with at least one dose, while 89% of people aged 45-59 have got one shot.
Among Metros too, Mumbai was the second to hit one crore vaccination after Delhi.
Pune gave the second largest dose (83.71 lakh) in the state, while Thane was third, after passing 50 lakh vaccination on Friday.
About 36 lakh people have taken at least one dose, including 14 lakh fully vaccinated until now, officials said.
On Saturday, BMC said there was no first dose to be given.
It is estimated that 2.5 lakh people are waiting for their second dose in the city.
Civil authority said it was a special drive to facilitate complete vaccination.
“We will see a response on Saturday and then can order several additional days in the coming weeks,” said Supplementary City Commissioner Suresh Kakani.
Vaccination will mainly go through registration in place so that more local residents can get the second dose.
Almost all centers have been allocated 200-250 each.
BMC said only those who had completed 84 days after taking the first dose of Covishield and 28 days after taking Covaxin would be eligible.
Total vaccination in Maharashtra, meanwhile, reached 6.14.96,370 with 7.08.284 doses given on Friday.
Mumbai saw 826.83 vaccination on Friday.
