Mumbai: A two-year-old child died after being given the wrong injection by the sweeper of a nursing home in Baiganwadi, Govandi.
On Thursday, Shivaji Nagar police ordered four staff: sweeper, a doctor, a resident medical officer (RMO) and a nurse.
The sweeper is 17 years old, so the police begged for teenage justice action against him.
Until Thursday night, there were no arrests made.
According to the police, on January 12, the two-year-old boy, Taha Khan, was accepted at Noor Nursing Home in Baiganwadi with complaints of fever.
Doctor, before going home, has asked RMO to inject other patients – a 16-year-old child – with medicine, azithromycin.
“RMO was not available and he, in turn, asked the nurse to give medicine to teen patients.
The nurse did not pay attention, and the sweeper then asked if he could give injection instead.
But instead of giving medication for 16-year-old patients, the sweeper injected a boy The two-year-old man, who died in a few minutes, “said Arjun Rajan, senior inspector at the Shivaji Nagar police station.
The police ordered accused under Section 304 (II) of the IPC.
