Mumbai: Two animal activists were attacked by a mass of more than 40 people in Kasaiwadi at Chunabhatti where they went with police personnel to attack trucks carrying illegal beef.
Animal welfare officer, Ashish Kamarak Jarik, received a serious head injury after being hit with Rods, while his Pratik Nanavare activist was beaten with a stick on his back.
Two police personnel who accompanied were pressed but were not hurt by generators.
Barik was taken to Sion Hospital in Central Mumbai after the attack, while Nanavare went to the Chunabhati police station to file a wall to the masses.
Speaking with Toi, Nanavare said: “We have received previous information that a truck (MH03-CV7665) was heading to Kasaiwadi with illegal beef in it.
So, at the beginning of Sunday morning around 6am we called Mumbai police bearing to get help for Attack and win beef.
Two police officials accompanied us in their official vehicle.
“He further added that as soon as the beef vehicle reached Kasaiwadi, close to the Bada Mosque, a crowd that was angry from 40 people attacking them with sticks and stems.
“BARIK is mainly targeted by a horde, and so he starts to bleed his head.
I was exposed to the back.
I am now submitting my detailed statement to Chunabhatti police to order all burners,” added Nanavare.
Senior Animal Activists Bhavin Gathan from Karuna Parivar Trust NGOs, Commenting: “This is a very serious problem since the two Dhyan Foundation activists were attacked in front of the police in the vehicle.
Mumbai police must ensure that they sent a greater strength when it did an attack In sensitive areas such as mass violence can easily occur.
I myself have done more than 700 attacks on the seller of beef in the past, and I know how important personal security at the time.
“City activists have expressed shock in the case of the latest attacks and urge law enforcement to act quickly against the perpetrators.
