Mumbai: Traffic on the National Highway Mumbai-Ahmedabad will be hit because the most important 50-year Versova Creek bridge finally just dies partly for improvement.
The bridge will be closed for all heavy vehicles from October 30 to November 1.
One of the two lines will open for light vehicles to ply.
The bridge must be repaired in mid-September, but the work was delayed due to traffic congestion in Thane caused by holes.
Every year, it is closed for several days for maintenance.
According to the numbers of the Indian national highway authority, around 50,000 vehicles use it every day.
