Mumbai: A resident of Borivli, Mahesh Gupta (47), who had been deceived by Rs 32.69 Lakh, was back on Wednesday after police cyber solved this case and accelerated the recovery of funds.
Gupta needs an urgent money for his wife’s medical care that has kidney disease, and rides the bed.
The Gupta has been cheated allegedly aspires Ashwin Dowda Apurva actor (47), who has promised to get his daughter’s role in a film.
Gupta said he had paid money after selling his flat in Mira Road and his car.
Dowda, who is currently in prison, has been suspected of deceiving at least 80 people from whom he has sucked Rs 2 Crore in the last four years, the police said.
The bank account has been frozen and the money of cheated people has been locked since the arrest.
Cyber police officers learned that Gupta’s wife was sick, accelerating formalities with the court and completing a procedure in a month that helped Gupta get the money.
The police case had been registered in January after Gupta realized that he had been cheated.
Gupta has made online transfers to Dowda, which holds an MBA from the US and has acted in many advertising films.
The police said that he took a crime to fund a luxurious lifestyle.
“The problem was accelerated and the court procedure was completed after we learned that Gupta faced the financial crisis.
His wife was sick and he needed money for treatment,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber) Rashmi Kandikar.
