Mumbai: All places of worship can fill only 50%

Mumbai: BMC on Friday issued orders that all places of worship and religious places in the city can only allow worshipers up to 50% of total capacity.
With Covid-19 cases, the highlands in the state, last week the Maharashtra government had announced the reopening of all places of worship from October 7, the first day of Navratri.
The Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray said all places of worship would be open to worshipers, but they had to follow a strict safety protocol.
In the first wave, the country has reopened the temples in November after Diwali, and within five months, they were closed when the second wave hit April.
“Based on the command of the state government, all places of worship and religious places in the BMC area can allow only 50% of worshipers and all Covid-19 protocols must be followed,” said the command issued by the Head of BMC Iqbal Chahal on Friday.
According to the standard operating procedure of the state government, maintaining social distance and masking will be a necessity, and no prasad or holy water will be presented inside.
The state says surprisingly visitors and slots must be corrected based on the size of the building.
Frequently clean the place and no idol position and holy books are also mentioned.
Events and religious congregations are still not permitted.
The general prayer mat should be avoided, people must get their own mat.
