Mumbai: The day after Lata Mangeshkar was cremated in Shivaji Park, BJP raised a request for a warning in his name in Shivaji Park.
“This request from his fans, music lovers and sympathizers,” said BJP MLA and a spokesman for RAM Kadam in his letter to the Minister of Chief.
The head of Patole Nana Nana, also said international standard warnings must be built here.
However, locals oppose proposals.
“This is a playground, other permanent use should not be permitted,” Ashok said, one of the residents.
Shiv Sena also opposed the idea.
“Lata Didi is a valuable property of this country.
Don’t play politics on it.
It’s not easy to build a warning because he is not a politician,” said Sena MP and members of Rajya Sabha Sanjay Raut.
“I respect Basaheb Thackeray and Lata Mangeshkar but this is not the place for a warning.
Lata Didi is a cricket lover.
I’m sure both Thackeray and he will oppose a warning here with their names,” said the Town planner and architect Nandan Munekar.
