Mumbai: BMC on Friday said that it would conduct an environmental assessment of Lake Powai, based on the suggestions made by the expert advisory committee that had been set to oversee the beauty project and cycle lane there.
The Bombay High Court has lived to build a cycling and jogging path proposed around Lake Powai last year.
Officials said that the Environmental Assessment Agency would “implement a sample of environmental parameters related to the lake and its surroundings”.
“They will provide research support for works that can be done for lake protection and rejuvenation work.
They will prepare a plan to resolve human-animal conflicts, and suggest environmentally friendly concepts for tourism,” BMC said.
