Mumbai: Congress on Saturday urged the Head of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray to allow the Puja Chhath and direct BMC to build an artificial pool for ceremonies throughout the city.
In a letter to Cm Thackeray, the head of the Mumbai Congress Bhai Jagtap said that BMC must provide an artificial pond for Puja.
BMC has allowed the celebration of this year’s Puja Chhath in Mumbai but has asked worshipers to ‘avoid’ beaches and sea coast.
BMC instead urges worshipers to celebrate festivals in a way that is low or limited and do puja in artificial ponds and ask the police to ensure that there is no crowding on the beach.
