Mumbai: The minimum temperature in Mumbai, which was dipped down 20 degrees Celsius almost a week ago, jumped to 26.5 degrees on Wednesday.
According to the Note of the IMD, this is only the second time in a decade that the city records a high minimum temperature for November.
The last time this high-scale minimum temperature was for this month in 2018, when touching 27.4 degrees.
Wednesday’s minimum temperature recorded by the IMD Santacruz Observatory is 5.5 degrees above normal.
Observatory IMD Colais records a minimum temperature of 26 degrees which constitutes 3.3 degrees above normal.
Apart from a high minimum temperature, a high moisture rate also adds discomfort.
The relative humidity recorded by the Observatory IMD Colaba and Santacruz is 92% and 85% respectively.
It was higher than the past day when the Observatory IMD Colaba and Santacruz recorded moisture of 84% and 65% respectively.
While the rest of the day continued to be cloudy, at night a little drizzle was recorded in most cities such as omelet, goregaon, Ghatkopar, Andheri, Parel and the lower Malad.
Citizens said the pastecoor rain took him surprised.

on Wednesday, the IMD Colaba Observatory recorded 3mm rain, while the Santacruz observatory recorded 1.2mm.
The highest 24-hour rain recorded in November was 46.3mm in 2019.
“Even though it rains November, the weather is hot and uncomfortable.
Hope to get help from hot weather,” said a resident.
As per Estimated IMD, light rain and heavy activities will continue until Thursday, but the weekend is likely to see dry weather conditions again.
The IMD said the drizzle was due to a low pressure area above the eastern Arab Sea from Goa Beach and Karnataka.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature recorded by the IMD Colaba Observatory and Santacruz is 31.5 degrees and 34.5 degrees Celsius.
