Mumbai: BMC on Thursday announced its budget for books 2022-23 from RS 45,949 Crore which is an increase of nearly 17% from last year’s budget RS 39,038 Crore.
For other years, large ticket projects such as the coastal road Mumbai and Jalan Gorgoan Mulund (GMLR) found large allocations made.
BMC allocated Rs 3,200 Crores for coastal road projects and RS 1300 Crores for the GMLR project.
BMC has allocated RS 22,647 Crore for capital expenditure – which spends development projects for improving city infrastructure such as roads, storm waterways and water projects.
“BMC has worked on the number of very high infrastructure projects as before.
Capital expenses for this infrastructure work close to RS 16,800 Crore on 2021-22, which is almost doubled of what is spent on infrastructure three years a year,” said BMC’s head.

Last year it has allocated RS 18,751 Crores Crores as a capital expenditure.
The actual capital expenditure of Rs 9,575.48 Crore was issued until January 2022 which was 56.77%.
