Mumbai: A police inspector was dismissed from the service after being arrested by the State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting RS 22 Lakh’s bribe in 2019 restored two months ago, even though there were objections from the police commissioner.
Recovery transfer began in 2019, when the BJP-Sena government came to power, but was placed in the backburner after the objection.

The complainant approached ACB and Bhoir was caught receiving Rs 22 Lakh at Andher.
Kasing bribery is still waiting before the ACB court.
In September 2019, the police commissioner then Sanjay Barve dismissed Bhoir after the department’s investigation found him guilty.
Bhair approached the Minister of State for Ranjit Patil’s house, which still followed the orders and directed his recovery.
When Barve objected to recovery, the minister remained the order.
The source said after the MVA government was in power, the problem of recovery Bhir appeared again.
Bhir files were taken for review and stayed removed, said a senior police officer.
In an investigation, Bhir was found guilty in tweaking police investigations to benefit the allegations and benefit themselves monetary.
Bhoir was dismissed under the provisions of the Bombay Police Rules (Punishment and Appeal), 1956.
Bhir had submitted a request before the Department of the House for the recovery stating that he was illegally dismissed from services and bribery could not be a reason for his dismissal and there.
Some civil servants are arrested in cases of bribery and all cannot be dismissed from services.
He stated that he had a good footprint record to resolve sensational cases while serving in Mumbai and Thane police.
Bhair, is currently posted in the control room in the eastern region, declining to comment.
Commissioner with the Police (Administration) of Rajkumar Watkar said he had been restored based on orders from the home department.
He refused to comment further.
