Mumbai: anti-narcotics cell (ANC) from the branch of Mumbai Police Crime on Thursday arrested a lawyer, which allegedly operated the Mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit in his farmhouse in Kolhapur Maharashtra Regency, an official said.
Rajkumar Rajhun’s advocate was arrested by Anc officials from the western edge of Malad in the morning, the official said.
Rajhun had walked after the police on Monday undermined the Mephedrone manufacturing unit at his farmhouse at Chandgad Taluka from Kolhapur, which was 375 km from Mumbai, he said.
According to the police, the lawyer accused of being used to produce Mephedrone in his farmhouse with the help of his maid and transport it to Mumbai, where he will distribute contraband goods to the vendors.
The police have arrested Nikhil Ramchandra Lohar, farm guards, and Christiana alias Ayesha, a female drug vendor from Mumbai, in this connection.
During the attack at the farmhouse, the ANC team had confiscated 38.7 kg of raw materials, using which the defendant could make Mephedrone worth RS 19.35 Crore.
The ANC team has also confiscated 39 liters of chemicals and other equipment, worth Rs 2.35 Crore, stated.
