Mumbai: Ceeru Chopra, wife of Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chopra (retirees), has filed a complaint of cheating on the city police after an unknown person disguised as a courier service employee and took a laptop from Colaba’s residence.
The incident took place on Thursday morning.
Neeru Chopra told Toi that he wanted to send a laptop to a relative place in Parel.
Someone from her husband’s office has booked services from application-based courier companies for that purpose.
“I got a message about the order and the name of the person who will come to take it.
However, after a while I got a call from the person who said that he was at the Nepean Sea Road and this application did not show the correct address.
He said he would cancel the booking.
Then, we made reservations the second time and I got a message.
I got a call and that person said he was on the omelet and would reach 20 to 25 minutes to collect a laptop, “he said.
At one time, a man came to his residence to collect a laptop.
The person enrolled his name as a sandeep in the building list.
He displays his identity card and goes with a laptop.
“In one day another man came and said he came to collect a laptop.” Then, the courier company said that none of the people gathered the package.
